About Me


A Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress, Dr. Jim Baxendale has over
35 years experience in the mental health field and over 25 years experience
in crisis intervention and providing Critical Incident Stress Management
intervention and training services to private and public agencies.

A veteran of over 3 years of combat service in Viet Nam where he was awarded
the Purple Heart, 2 Bronze Stars, and the Combat Infantry Badge, Dr. Baxendale
developed an early interest in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Following 24
years of military service, he established a private practice which focused on
the diagnosis and treatment of Acute and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. He
continues to conduct PTSD evaluations, including psychological autopsies, to
assist veterans and their families. Additionally, his work with emergency
services personnel led him to become an EMT-Paramedic.

He has responded to hundreds of critical incidents, both in the emergency
services arena and in the private sector, following traumatic incidents in the
workplace.

Dr. Baxendale is a Certified Trauma Specialist and holds Board Certifications
in Acute Traumatic Stress Management, Emergency Crisis Intervention, and School
Crisis Intervention. He is a nationally recognized presenter, having taught
over 150 courses across the United States.
