Dr. Jamieson has over forty years experience in ministry and
has been active as an institutional chaplain for most of this time. He recently
retired as Director of Pastoral Care and Patient Support at the AtlantiCare
Regional Medical Center, where he was active as a member of the Trauma Team.
John has been active in emergency services for more than thirty years and has
been providing critical incident stress interventions since 1991. He is the
former Assistant Director of the Mercury Atlantic-Cape CISM Team and presently
serves with the SOS Peer Rescue CISM Team. John has been chaplain of the Ocean
City, New Jersey Fire and Rescue Service since 1991. He also serves as
Associate Regional Director (Mid-Atlantic) for the Federation of Fire
Chaplains. Dr. Jamieson has served with a church-based counseling service and
provides stress-related counseling for first responders. He teaches
Comprehensive Acute Traumatic Stress management and is an instructor for the
Fire Chaplain Training Institute.


WORKSHOPS, PRESENTATIONS AND SEMINAR TOPICS AND DESCRIPTIONS

How to Deliver Bad News:
A one hour presentation regarding how to safely deliver bad news in a variety
of settings. Includes a PowerPoint presentation.

Comprehensive Acute Traumatic Stress Management:
A two-day comprehensive presentation of the principles of Acute Traumatic
Stress Management to prepare individuals to respond appropriately to victims of
acute traumatic stress and chronic stress. The target audience is first
responders, clergy and mental health providers.

Essentials of Fire Chaplaincy:
A two-day program presenting the essential elements of Fire Chaplaincy. Course
satisfies requirements for basic certification as a Fire Chaplain.

Emotional Resilience:
A three hour program designed to teach first responders and others dealing with
traumatic stress how to cope effectively with repeated of continued exposure to
traumatic stress.

Compassion Fatigue:
A two hour program to educate individuals about the reality of Compassion
Fatigue (sometimes called "Burn-out") and how to recognize its
presence and what to do to recover from this condition.
