Prof Ming Yu, former Chief Scientist and Director of R&D, COM DEV, has made major contributions to the advancement of computer-aided design and tuning of microwave filters and multiplexers. These are among his many contributions that have allowed Canada's COM DEV to remain as an international industry leader in aerospace electronic technologies. In 2016, COM DEV was acquired by Honeywell of USA. He has led the Advanced Technology Group, Cambridge, as the Chief Scientist and an Engineering Fellow. He published over 20 patents. He has authored or co-authored over 130 publications and numerous proprietary reports. He was later promoted to Senior Honeywell Engineering Fellow, highest honor in a 140,000-employee organization.
After 24 years in industry full time and 15 years as an adjunct professor at Waterloo Canada, Professor Ming Yu joined Electronic Engineering Dept, Chinese University of Hong Kong as a tenured full professor in Oct 2017.
