About Us

Fine wine and food connoisseur Britt Davis grew up near Napa Valley, California, where he developed a deep-rooted passion for delectable vinos and savory foods. Through his journey, he earned an undergraduate degree from UC Davis in Applied Behavioral Sciences, a Business Degree from the University of Colorado and a graduate degree from Abilene Christian University in Christian Education. In addition to owning The Gourmet Basket, a specialty gift basket shop in Englewood,  Colorado, traveling the world in search of the very best wines and dining experiences has been his quest—one that has taken him across six of the seven continents.

For example, Mr. Davis has visited the many wine regions of Australia, South Africa, The United States and Europe.  In fact, he has served on the expert judge panel at many local and national wine tasting events.  Yet through it all, his insatiable curiosity continues to ask questions about what he can bring back to his first geographical love—East Texas.

So Britt now gifts Kilgore, his home of 17 years, with a growing knowledge of wines, vineyards, food and winemakers from around the world, along with a willingness to share with folks from around Texas and beyond.  And it doesn’t matter if the new friends are beginners, connoisseurs, or somewhere between, all will experience a warm, happy venue and event.  Why?  That’s just who Britt is and what he does! This is reflected in his mission statement: Britt’s Wine and Dine offers a sophisticated, educational journey to be savored by each guest, centered on a diverse portfolio of regional, national, and international wines tastefully paired with unforgettable culinary experiences. Britt’s Wine and Dine is dedicated to providing intimate VIP Pairing Dinners and “EduTasting” presentations, as well as themed and customized events throughout the year.

It is Britt's mission to provide impeccable service, to make his guests feel like part of the family, and to share his great passion for wines and food from around the world.

It is the vision of Britt’s Wine and Dine to fully commit to growing the business and becoming an experiential destination for a broad audience, from beginners to connoisseurs to people who just want to feel good about picking out a good wine to complement their meal. By building on its reputation for excellence and customer service, Britt’s Wine and Dine has developed and opened a wine and food event facility/retail center where visitors can purchase wine, enjoy tastings, hold private events, celebrate special occasions, and participate in interactive cooking demonstrations.

Britt developed his LLC in late 2019 in Kilgore, Texas and purchased the Old Elder School on Hwy 31 in Kilgore which he has started to transform into a destination for families, historians and wine enthusiasts from all around East Texas and beyond. His unique concept has developed over the years into an experience that people travel from as far as Houston, Dallas, Shreveport and all towns in between.

The Old School will be where Britt’s vision will become a reality. A small restaurant, a dinner theater, a tasting bar, wine storage, wine sales, gift shops and other cultural interests will all intersect on this seven acre site.

Britt has taken his passion for wines and put it into bottles. His line of wines include his Jess and Judy which is a blend of white wines that honors his mentors and friends, Jess and Judy Bravo. Along with six other wines, Britt’s palate is reflected in each and every one. Britt’s Wines and Winery is one of the 20 wineries on the Piney Woods Wine trail.
