About Me


With over 10 years of experience working in the co-operative housing federation sector, Olivia Amoateng currently serves as the manager at Birch Glen Co-operative Homes, located in Oakville, Ontario. Known for her excellent rapport and strong  and transparent communication skills, she is able to build long-lasting relationships with her peers and people in her community. Olivia's passion for sustainability and fostering positive communities drives her to engage with local government bodies and coorporations on behalf of the communities she serves.

Her daily tasks in managing a 135 unit co-op housing, tenants, staff, and contractors, involves tackling challenges head-on, analyzing situations and collaborating with stakeholders to find practical and sustainable solutions. By facilating respect, she effectively bridges the gap and ensure that concerns, requests, and feedback are appropriately communicated. As a skilled negotiator, she has contributed to the successful managing of her organization by finding win-win solutions that satisfy the needs of all parties involved. 

Her community-building skills, communication abilities, open-mindedness, empathy, dedication, passion and love for others encouraged her to obtain certification in mediation to extend her skills in helping other co-ops and non-profit housing communities to resolve conflicts and deal with difficult situations. 

She holds an Honours Degree in Business Accounting, certifications in customer service, mediation and conflict resolution as well as mental health studies. 

She voluntarily serves as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors at Mariposa Co-op Housing and as a director on the Peel Halton Co-operative Housing Federation Board. 

Finally, she is a mother of three children who continues to benefit from her acquired knowledge in conflict resolution and negotiation.
