Maureen Lofthouse, Executive Director, Canada-Israel Industrial Research and Development Foundation, made early contributions to the field of engineering as applied to the development of turboprop engines for small aircraft, as well as the development of diesel engines for large road vehicles. More recently, however, she has held management positions with several government programs aimed at the development of engineering R&D, and engineering education. In this latter capacity, Maureen has been particularly involved in programs to attract more women into engineering.
