About Me

Dr. Nessim has played a leadership role in introducing the use of probabilistic risk and reliability methods to the pipeline industry worldwide. His work has had foundational impact on engineering practice in Canada and elsewhere. He is the originator and designer of PIRAMID software for risk-based pipeline integrity management, used by 30 pipeline operators on four continents, and the principal author of Appendices that were included in the 2007 edition of CSA Z662 and are being considered for inclusion in ASME B31.8. He is widely published, a significant contributor to technical committees and societies, and a two-time winner of the Pipeline Research Committee International Distinguished Researcher Award, with two other colleagues in 2002 and individually in 2009.
