About Me


Dr. Behr is the Director of the McGill Interdisciplinary Initiative in Infection and Immunity (MI4) and the Director of the McGill Infectious Diseases Division. He was the Founding Director of the McGill International tuberculosis (TB) Centre.  Dr. Behr trained at the University of Toronto, Queen's, McGill and Stanford, developing expertise in the epidemiology and pathogenesis of mycobacterial diseases.  His research employs a variety of genetic techniques to study molecular differences between the agents of TB in humans and livestock. Dr. Behr’s work has been recognized in Quebec (Chercheur National Award of the FRSQ), Canada (Fellow, Royal Society of Canada; Tier 1 Canada Research Chair) and beyond (Election to the American Society for Clinical Investigation and to the American Academy of Microbiology).
