About Me


Engineer, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Lorne Trottier has poured his passion for science into research, technological development and education in Quebec. In 1976, he co-founded Matrox Electronic Systems Ltd., a company known for its innovative computer graphics products. Through his technical innovation and market sense, he has helped Matrox become a world-leading multinational company in the field of computer graphics, video and imaging. He is also unfailing in support of his alma mater, McGill University, in addition to supporting Polytechnique Montreal and the Montreal Science Centre. He was named a Member of the Order of Canada in 2007 and promoted to Officer in 2016.
