Baker, Glen

About Me


Glen Baker is a Distinguished University Professor Emeritus at the University of Alberta. He was Chair of the Department of Psychiatry from 2000 to 2005, an Associate Vice-President Research from 2013 to 2016 and is a  former Tier I Canada Research Chair. He has served on numerous national and international grant review and conference organizing committees and is a past president of the Canadian College of Neuropsychopharmacology. Dr. Baker was Series Co-Editor of the book series Neuromethods and has served on the editorial boards of several journals. His research interests include mechanisms of action and metabolism of psychiatric drugs, neurochemistry of neuropsychiatric disorders and development of neuroprotective drugs.
