Opened in 2012 by Shawn Tegart, Arrowhead BrewingCompany is a small craft brewery located in Invermere, in the heart of theColumbia Valley, just three hours from Calgary.
Shawn’ssole focus is on brewing great craft beer. Consistently having at least 10flavorful brews available, often including 3-4 seasonal beers. Shawn has aknack for coming up with unique beers, such as rhubarb rye-p-a, coffee creamale, and tequila blueberry hefeweizen. Using the real thing when brewingis a top priority, so you’ll never get a beer with any extracts, flavourings orpreservatives used.
Arrowheadalso features original products made by local craftsmen - like Sophie’spickles, relishes, jellies and doggie biscuits – all made with Arrowhead beer;and Anchor Organics beer soaps, and Gigi’s custom wooden growler grates. Thecoffee for the KickAss Coffee Cream Ale is produced right next door at KickingHorse Coffee, and the honey in the Original 83 Honey Brown Ale is created bybees that live in Shawn’s backyard!
Thetaproom is as well-crafted as the beers, decorated with a distinct 1950srockabilly gas-town theme, filled with mid-century antiques, signage, pin-upsand even a vintage gas pump.
Guestscan view the brewing area enclosed behind a custom wall built of vintagewindows. The taproom hosts up to 50 guests, with a spacious outdoor 4-season,year-round patio with cozy blankets pillows, heaters for winter days andcool-water misters of hot summer nights.
Typicalto most taprooms they offer 5, 10 and 16 ounce pours and flights. But whatmakes Arrowhead special is their dedication to small town vendors, servingyummy snacks made by local businesses that use real ingredients.

The bottlesare distributed around the East Kootenays, and you can find Arrowhead beer ontap almost everywhere in the Columbia Valley. They do have a few selected brewsthat are only available the brewery, so it’s always worth a stop atArrowhead.
