About Me
Professor Diosady is an engineer, researcher and educator. He developed the first Canadian food engineering program in an engineering faculty. The author of 150 research publications, 18 patents, he guided 60 graduate students, 16 of whom have become professors. He developed widely used technologies for oilseed processing. His work on salt fortification enables the reduction of the incidence of iodine and iron deficiency disease affecting some 2 billion people in the developing world. His work has been recognized and honoured by both the engineering and food science communities, with the K.Y.Lo medal, the Babcock Hart Award, the 2018 Engineering Gold Medal, and the W.J. Eva Award, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, Order of Ontario and Officers' Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit.
