Dr. Hipel has gained national and international eminence through unique systems design engineering based applications of time series and conflict resolution analyses in water resources management and environmental engineering. He is an outstanding engineer who has made extensive technical, social, consulting, educational, administrative, and professional contributions world wide. He is currently a professor in the department of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo.
