About Me

Professor Reddy has made outstanding contributions to research and education in applied mechanics through his highly-cited contributions to variational principles and methods, shear deformation theories of beams, plates, and shells, and the mathematical theory of the finite element method, successful commercialization of his research and service to the profession. Dr. Reddy is recognized for lasting contributions to research and education through the development of shear deformation structural theories, creation of finite element models for accurate determination of inter-laminar stresses in composites, modeling of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids, and writing of well-received textbooks, all of which have had major impact on engineering education and practice. He is a Fellow of the US National Academy of Engineering and a Foreign Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering. He has received many awards including the ASME Medal, that organization's highest honour.
