About Me

I am a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, piano teacher and vocal workshop leader. I have performed at festivals across Canada and Europe and have been teaching music for over 20 years. I currently teach somatic-informed piano and voice to students of all ages. I also teach Balkan singing at the Centre des Musiciens du Monde in Montreal and facilitate collaborative and meaningful group singing using storytelling and song with the RECAA Choir through our "Songs that Connect Us" project. I am the founder of and sing in the female polyphonic vocal quartet Sava.

I specialize in a cappella folk singing and am most interested in orally transmitted vocal traditions with social and ritual function. My workshops reflect this, emphasizing listening, mindfulness, community building and connection through song. I create welcoming spaces where creative music-making is possible and accessible to all, and through music, movement and song, strive to help people better connect with themselves, others, and the world around them.
