Dr. Ruilin Yang has had a long and extremely productive career conducting research in the field of explosive technologies. Following a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at Queen's University, he joined ICI Canada (now Orica Inc., the world's largest provider of commercial explosives and innovative blasting systems) at the level of scientist. He has steadily risen through the Orica organization, ultimately being promoted to 'Principal Research Fellow', the highest technical position existing in the Orica organization. His research work has had transformative impact on blasting technologies and been applied worldwide. He sits on the editorial boards of prestigious international technical journals.
