Ken Ogilvie has had a distinguished career in the environmental field, beginning as a project engineer with the federal government and progressing through various policy-related positions with the federal and two provincial governments — Manitoba and Ontario. He then served for twelve years as the Executive Director of Pollution Probe, one of Canada's premier environmental organizations. He has been a Board member and vice-chair as well as an Advisory Group member of a number of not-for-profit organizations, and was a co-founder of QUEST (Quality Urban Energy Systems of Tomorrow). He remains active as a consultant to government, industry and environmental groups. He was awarded honourary doctorates for his achievements and service by the University of Waterloo, Ontario, in 2009, and by Thompson Rivers University, British Columbia, in 2011. He published two mystery/thriller novels in 2017 and 2019.
