Dr. Franco Vaccarino, the new President of the University of Guelph, recently held senior administrative positions at the University of Toronto and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. His interdisciplinary and translational research accomplishments in the areas of neuroscience, addiction, and mood and anxiety disorders have been recognized internationally. He was the WHO's Principal Editor of Neuroscience of Psychoactive Substance Use and Dependence report. He played a prominent role in the reorganization of the MRC into CIHR and has served in a number of organizations influencing mental health research and policy, including Brain Canada and the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse.
