Dr. Dong Sun is a global leader in micro-robotics for biological cell manipulation and micro-surgery. He has invented robot-aided automated processes of using micro-engineering tools such as optical tweezers, micro-needles, and electromagnetic devices to achieve single cell manipulation and cell surgery. His other pioneered work includes synchronized motion control with successful technology transfer to industry. He has made impactful contributions to Canadian industry through successful collaborative projects and training of highly qualified engineers. His accomplishments have been recognized through prestigious awards, including the Hong Kong Awards for Industry and Fellow of IEEE.
