Javad Mostaghimi, Professor, University of Toronto, is internationally recognized for his research on thermal plasma technology and its industrial applications. His numerical models of plasma sources and thermal spray coating are widely cited and applied. He is the cofounder and director of the Centre for Advanced Coating Techniques of the University of Toronto and was the cofounder of Simulent Inc., a software and consulting company working in Asia, Europe and North America. He also cofounded Ablazeon Inc. to commercialize an innovative plasma torch which he developed.
