STOTT PILATES®
Pilates is a form of exercise which was invented in the 1920's. Since then Physiotherapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals have refined the the method using modern day principles of exercise and rehabilitation science to create the brand Stott Pilates®. The aim of pilates is to achieve optimal musculoskeletal performance, including strength, flexibility and endurance, without the risk of injury. Mat workouts incorporate many balanced exercise sequences for all ages and populations, focusing on core stability, shoulder girdle stabilization, breathing and correct placement of the pelvis, ribs, neck and head. This form of exercise is ideal for people who struggle with chronic back and neck pain, as well as reoccurring injuries.
HYDROTHERAPY
Hydrotherapy is a water based exercise program specifically designed for people who have trouble weight bearing. The water acts as a buoyant, taking pressure of the feet, knees, hips and back. Cardiovascular endurance as well as muscle tone can greatly be improved without placing strain on your joints. Ideal for people with Arthritis and people suffering with lower back pain.
EXERCISE THERAPY
Under the instruction of a Kinesiologist, exercise therapy will help your body recover from injury. Exercises are specifically prescribed for you to help you restore function and return to your everyday activities. Ideal for post partum, post surgical and whiplash injuries.
ERGONOMIC ASSESSMENTS
Individually designed to address your needs, whether in a group setting at work or for your own personal use. An on site consultation will highlight areas of inadequacy in equipment, posture, technique and design and suggest ways to improve and prevent injury.
WORKPLACE INJURY PREVENTION SEMINARS
Find yourself in a profession where workplace injury is an everyday occurrence? It is much better to act early to avoid unnecessary injury. Workplace injury prevention seminars will discuss individual job stresses and identify common injuries that can occur.
