Dr. Kushniruk is an internationally recognized educational leader and researcher in the area of health information science. He has been a key researcher on national and international collaborative projects that focus on the evaluation of human computer interaction in health care. He has developed novel methods of video analysis of computer uses that have brought about inexpensive, practical usability assessment. He holds adjunct appointments at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, in the Faculty of Engineering and Science in Aalborg University (Denmark), and in the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong.
