Dr. Stephen Hwang is one of the world's leading researchers on homelessness, the connections
between housing and health, and health problems and access to care among people experiencing homelessness. His research has resulted in important new insights into mortality among homeless
people, the connections between traumatic brain injury and homelessness, and interventions to improve the health of people who are homeless. As a research scientist and a physician providing health care for homeless people for more than two decades, Dr. Hwang has been a dedicated voice for health equity and a tireless advocate for some of the most marginalized members of our society.
