About Us


The Grey Wooded Forage Association is anon-profit organization.

Our office is headquartered in Rocky MountainHouse. Butwe support producers in six central Alberta counties including Clearwater,Lacombe, Red Deer, Ponoka, Mountain View, and County of Wetaskiwin.

The association was formed in 1984 by a small group of localproducers who were interested in economical and environmentally sustainablegrazing and forage production. Today we continue having an engaged board andtwo committed staff and we aim to play a leading role in the transfer ofquality and proven information throughout the forage and livestock industries.

GWFA offers fieldschools, workshops, and webinars to educate producers on a variety ofagriculture related topics. Topics we cover include sustainable grazingmanagement practices, soil health, pasture improvement and management,regenerative agriculture, animal health and production and funding opportunities.

GWFA producers have access to a team of agriculture specialists, support inadoption of on-farm beneficial management practices, help with Environment FarmPlan, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
