In 1990, Mario Russo opened Salon Mario Russo at 9 Newbury Street in the heart of Boston's famous retail, arts, and business area. Mario wanted to create a salon that, although metropolitan, retained a relaxed atmosphere. Mario hires and trains stylists to be current on fashion trends, but he insists that all staff be highly approachable and eager to cater to the distinct lifestyles of their clients.
