Rajput, Ali

About Me

Dr. Ali Rajput is a world renowned expert on movement disorders - in particular Parkinson's disease. His substantial research on levodopa, the first effective long-term treatment for Parkinson's disease, settled controversy about possible toxic side effects of the drug, enabling physicians to prescribe levodopa without hesitation to patients who would benefit and changing standard practice in neurology. He has established one of the world's largest sample banks of autopsied brains from Parkinson's patients. He co-founded the Canadian Movement Disorder Group and served the World Health Organization's Working Group on Parkinson's from 1998-2010.
