Recognized internationally for his work in molecular cardiology, Dr. Thomas Parker is the Executive Vice President, Clinical Programs and Chief Medical Officer at Unity Health Toronto and Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. His active research program has been funded for over 20 years by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Heart and Stroke Foundation and provides novel insights into molecules that control cardiac repair and recovery following heart attacks. He has actively promoted the translation of this research into a clinical environment and his work is now being applied to develop new clinical cardiac diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
