About Me


Dr. John O'Neil is considered one of Canada's leading authorities in the field of Aboriginal health research. He has held leadership roles as the founding Chair of the Advisory Board for the CIHR
Institute for Aboriginal People's Health, the founding Director of the Manitoba First Nations' Centre for Aboriginal Health Research, and the Health Research Advisor to the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples. He is a leader in building public health capacity globally through work on the prevention of HIV/AIDS in India and China, and in Canada through his responsibilities as Dean of a new public-health oriented Faculty at SFU.
