About Me


Professor Emeritus Gérard Lachapelle of the University of Calgary has contributed in a sustained and major way to the development and dissemination of satellite-based GPS navigation technology in Canada and internationally. He has played an important role in the successful technology transfer activities, he has provided leadership for Canada to be recognized as truly excellent in this new technology. His pioneering work related to the Global Positioning System, a complex constellation of 24 satellites, is used throughout the world.
