Halperin, Scott

About Me


Scott Halperin is a professor of Pediatrics and Microbiology & Immunology at Dalhousie University and Head of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax. Following his education and training (Stanford University, Cornell University, University of
Virginia, University of Minnesota), he moved to Canada in 1985 to establish an academic career with a primary research interest in vaccines for the prevention of pertussis and other infectious diseases. Dr. Halperin has focused on establishing interdisciplinary research teams at his own university (he is Director of the Canadian Center for Vaccinology) and national research networks
(principal investigator of the PHAC/CIHR Influenza Research Network [PCIRN],
co-principal investigator of the Immunization Monitoring Program, Active
[IMPACT] and co-founding member of the Canadian Association for Immunization
Research and Evaluation [CAIRE].
