About Me

I’m a Chinese Canadian who is raised and formed by Chinese, Canadian, British, and American cultures.

I've recently earned my BFA in Industrial and Product Design from Rhode Island School of Design, I also had a Concentration (Minor) in Literary Arts and Studies. I am currently pursuing my MA degree in Design Products at the Royal College of Art in London, UK. I strive to design and make human-centred products that are marked by elegance and functionality. However, I think universally inclusive design is more of a utopian concept, therefore I am also very passionate about designing for disabilities and different needs. I also believe that the advancement of the research and development of products are tied closely to new materials and technologies, so I am willing to explore and learn in that field as well.

I’ve come to the realisation that design, no matter architectural or product based, large or small, should be human-centric. How we act and react, is largely influenced by the designs around us, and I’m passionate about using Empathy as a tool to bridge the gap between the designers and the users. I think within the creative field, each kind of art informs and facilitates one another, and I find my passions for literature and music valuable for my growth as a designer.

Outside the design realm, I am an avid reader, and I dabble in poetry and short story writing. I like to collect random facts and listen to soft rock and alternative rock music. I'm also very keen on promoting awareness and acceptance around neurodiversity and mental illnesses.
