About Me


Dr. Neena Chappell's research has focused on social gerontology throughout her 30+ year career. She established two world class university research centers on aging, one at the University of Manitoba and one at the University of Victoria, where she continues to conduct research. She has published over 300 academic articles and reports and brought in over $45 million in research funding. She has been the Canada Research Chair in Social Gerontology since 2001 and is past-President of the Canadian Association on Gerontology and President of Academy II (social sciences) of the Royal Society of Canada.
