About Me

Francis Foster pioneered the field of high-frequency ultrasound and translated its technologies into clinical and preclinical imaging systems. As a Tier-1 Canada Research Chair, his research has focused on the development of innovative technologies that have solved problems for biomedical researchers and clinical practitioners. The technology developed in his laboratory has been fully commercialized and is now considered the gold standard in high-frequency ultrasound, with users in over 1,500 organizations around the world. The recent FDA approval of the clinical version of the latest technology will open up many new applications in neurosurgery, neonatal imaging, and musculoskeletal imaging.
