About Me


Dr. Dougal McCreath satisfies all three CAE criteria for fellowship as a pioneer, practitioner, and leader. He developed his geotechnical expertise in hydropower consulting to some 35 owners in more than 10 countries. He acted as advisor to Canada's nuclear waste industry having served on numerous panels including the panel overseeing decommissioning Elliot Lake uranium mine tailings, and the Seaborn Panel. Since moving to Laurentian University, he was instrumental in leading the development of the School of Engineering to the success it enjoys today. He has trained numerous graduate students and influenced professional practice through his 50 papers. His service on environmental panels exemplifies his commitment to achieving balance between technical development and environmental stewardship.
