Dr. Krassioukov is a world leader in spinal cord injury research. He specializes in cardiovascular problems in people with spinal cord injury. Dr. Krassioukov has pioneered multi---disciplinary research in this area. He has made fundamental discoveries about the biology underlying these cardiovascular problems and has developed evidence---based guidelines for clinical management of these individuals. He has worked with the International Paralympic Committee to study wheelchair athletes and to increase fairness in international competition. At present, Dr. Krassioukov is conducting research to determine the best type of exercise to prevent cardiovascular problems in all people living with spinal cord injury.
