Member Since July 2019, Once We Were Refugees supports refugees by teaching them vocational skills in order to become self-sufficient. The organization holds classes for sewing and computer skills amongst other services. With their sewing class, refugees make quilts that are donated to Lutheran World Relief and sold in the Kansas City area, where the profit is given directly back to the person who made it.
