Brandon Stilwell and Josh Friebis will go over qualifying for a mortgage.

Kathy Healy will cover the First Time Home Buyer Grant opportunity available for homes purchased within the City of Elmira.

Patrick Mitchell will cover the First Time Home Buyer Grant opportunity available for homes purchased within Chemung County as well as identifying and accessing other local first time homebuyer resources. 

J.D. Iles will talk about the benefits of utilizing a realtor for your new home search and what steps you can take before starting the process.

About the Presenters:

Patrick Mitchell has been working in the housing industry for more than 12 years and has spent the last 8 years learning about and working directly with resources specific to low income first time homebuyers.  As a housing counselor and loan officer for INHS he assists low income first time homebuyers throughout Tompkins, Seneca, Schuyler, Chemung, Tioga, Cortland, and Cayuga counties.  His work involves assisting prospective homeowners to identify personal eligibility obstacles and develop strategies to overcome these obstacles, as well as assisting prospective homeowners in identifying all local resources that may assist them in realizing their goal of homeownership.

J.D. Iles is a transplant to the Elmira area, but that didn't stop him from starting a weekly history show on Facebook about Elmira and the surrounding area, which he has been doing for the last six years. When he is not out chasing after history, he is a Realtor with The Hidden Landmarks Home Team of Keller Williams Realty
