Following Lisa's webinar, all IHP Members are invited to attend our IHP AGM.


In this talk, Lisa will kōrero about why psychedelics might be helpful as a treatment for demoralisation and fear of dying in people with advanced disease. She will present findings from early stage studies investigating the use of psychedelic-assisted therapy as a treatment for existential distress in people with cancer, and she will give you a heads up about imminent mahi she and her colleagues are involved with in Aotearoa New Zealand.


Dr Lisa Reynolds 

Dr Lisa Reynolds is Director of the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology (PGDipHealthPsych); an accredited programme with the NZ Psychologists Board that trains students to work as psychologists in physical health settings. She has worked clinically as a health psychologist with cancer patients and their whānau for over fifteen years and brings this clinical focus to her teaching and her research portfolio. Her research includes studies that investigate ways in supporting people through the challenges associated with life limiting illness. Previous studies include investigation of mindfulness-based, self-compassion, and virtual reality interventions in people with cancer and understanding the role of emotion, stigmatisation, and disfigurement in avoidance and well-being in patient groups.
