Cross Cultural Considerations in the Assessment and Treatment of Anxiety Disorders

This workshop will explore cultural factors and their impact on both the presentation of and the treatment for anxiety disorders with racial and ethnic minorities. This workshop will particularly explore cultural considerations in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Specifically, we will explore common myths associated with anxiety disorders as well as cultural factors that impact the presentation of anxiety disorders in racial and ethnic minorities as well as common barriers associated with anxiety disorder treatment.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify common myths associated with anxiety disorders in racial and ethnic minorities.
  2. Identify cultural factors that contribute to the presentation of anxiety disorders in racial and ethnic minority populations
  3. Explore culturally-specific treatment barriers associated with racial and ethnic minority groups
  4. Explore cultural ingredients to enhance anxiety treatment with racial and ethnic minorities

This session will be recorded for those who are registered but are unable to attend on the day.
