Using the International Phonetic
Alphabet to Work on Your Accent

If you are a language
professional who would like to work your accent, this workshop will help. We
will first learn about the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). We will learn the difference
between phonemes and allophones, and why that distinction is important. We will
isolate the phonemes we need to work on by comparing source-language phonemes
to target-language phonemes. We will explore methods for using this knowledge
to work on your accent, and offer tools moving forward.
