Louisiana Nursing Home Association (LNHA) and the Louisiana Board of Examiners of Nursing Facility Administrators (LABENFA) invite long-term care professionals to attend "Navigating Success — Moving Forward in 2024," a seminar on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Randolph Riverfront Center in Alexandria. Through expert presentations during this one-day seminar, participants will gain insights into managing dietary and nutrition expenses, effective leadership techniques and review Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) hazard communication guidelines and effective practices.
Schedule at a Glance
- Nutrition education specialist Leigh Anne Burns, MS, RDN, LDN, will teach how to manage dietary and nutrition expenses in an uncontrolled setting.
- LABENFA Executive Director Joe Townsend will examine the critical link between exhibiting effective leadership skills and sound management techniques, highlighting their inseparable nature.
- Merrick & Company Life Sciences Senior Scientist Patrick Conley, MS, CBSP, NREMT, will discuss the importance of hazard communication in long-term care facilities, provide an overview of the requirements, and review effective communication practices. He will also explore the intricacies of emergency response within long term care facilities, ensuring readiness when the unexpected strikes.
The sign-in table opens at 8 a.m. and the seminar is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT. Your hotel reservation is not included in the registration fee. Lunch will be provided. Payment must be received before the event begins. The deadline to register online has been extended to May 13.

Continuing Education Credits
This session has been approved by Louisiana Board of Examiners of Nursing Facility Administrators (LABENFA) for 6 hours of continuing education credits.

If you have questions, contact Julie Ory at 225.927.5642 or email jory@lnha.org. Written cancellation received at least 10 days before the event will be refunded in full. Cancellation after this date will incur a fee equal to one-third of the registration cost.
In the event of an unforeseen circumstance beyond the control of LNHA, such as a pandemic-related circumstance, a severe weather event, etc., LNHA reserves the right to cancel or modify this seminar and issue refunds for registration costs. The refund will not cover other expenses such as hotel or travel fees, etc.
