We're all business owners:
why your career is the most important business you'll ever work for
Join us for our first Mentorship Breakfast in 2021 on Thursday, January 28th, 2021.
Our featured mentor is Katy Fairley, Principal Consultant of Fairley Strategies, a venture she started after working for over 8 years a diversified general contractor, working her way from an admin role to be a vice-president and company owner. Now, Katy gets to do what she's most passionate about. She provides strategies, training and facilitation in the early stages of building a successful project: selecting a project delivery method, setting the contract and procurement. She believes these three areas are at the heart of improving the building process for owners and construction firms alike.
Katy served a number of industry and community non-profits on their board of directors including four construction associations, the BC Epilepsy Society and the Headway Society. Currently, she serves on the executive committee for the BC Construction Association. In 2013, she founded WiC-Women in Construction group on Vancouver Island. Katy graduated from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick with a double major in international relations and political science.
