Patrick Ahrens



Patrick Ahrens is a Silicon Valley native who was the first in his family to go to college. He holds an associate degree from De Anza College, a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a master's degree in public administration from San Jose State University. He was elected to an at-large position on the Foothill-De Anza Community College District (FHDA) Board of Trustees in November 2018 and reelected without opposition in 2022 to represent Trustee Area 2, currently serving as Board President. As Board President, Patrick spearheaded efforts to allocate $200 million for affordable housing on the Foothill College campus for FHDA students, faculty, and staff and a partnership with Santa Clara Valley Medical Center to bring the first-of-its-kind health clinic to the De Anza College campus.


Patrick Ahrens has served as Assemblymember Evan Low's District Director for five years, working on policy areas including housing, transportation, and higher education. Patrick has worked with Assemblymember Evan Low for ten years, including serving for former Assemblymember Paul Fong. He is passionate about tackling the affordability and accessibility of education, healthcare, and housing in Assembly District 26.
