We are delighted to welcome back Vanessa Werden, Associate at Jenkins Marzban Logan LLP, to speak to us on Tuesday, January 22nd 2019.

Vanessa will provide an overview of the fundamentals of typical construction contracts (including CCDC contracts) and key provisions concerning how and when to properly terminate a contract, and some of the common rights and remedies available upon termination or when a dispute otherwise arises mid or post-project. 

Vanessa is a construction lawyer with JML LLP. Vanessa advises developers, consultants, contractors, construction managers, trades and suppliers on contract drafting and negotiation, builders liens and disputes, including unpaid invoices, cost overruns and delay claims. Vanessa's experience includes a complex stadium construction litigation matter, the commercial arbitration of insurance coverage disputes, and the arbitration of delay, extra work and deficiency claims following the construction of hydro power facilities on Vancouver island and in northern British Columbia.

Access and Parking:

Parking is available on site at the Holiday Inn for $6 an hour.

Additional parking is available at the Advanced Parking lot at 1128 Hornby street for $3.75/30 minutes, and at the Easy Park lot at 1067 Seymour Street for $2.75/30 minutes. 

The hotel is easily accessible by public transit.
