The National Association of Field Training Officers continues preparing your Field Training Unit for the challenges of 21st century policing by providing a comprehensive and client-oriented curriculum. NAFTO, in conjunction with the Fayetteville Police Department, is proud to offer our 1 Day Field Training Officer Refresher Course in Fayetteville, AR, a 35-minute drive from Northwest Arkansas National Airport. This training is designed for experienced Field Training personnel in Law Enforcement, Detention, Communications, and Support Services.

FTO Advanced/Refresher Course

Our 1 Day Refresher School will provide the experienced FTO with additional tools necessary to train and evaluate trainees during the field training process. This course is geared toward experienced FTO's that have not attended FTO training in some time, agencies that require their FTO's to maintain annual training hours, or FTO Units that are having challenges with consistency in rating sand performance evaluations.

This 8-hour class covers such topics as Generational Leadership, Standard Evaluation Guidelines, Adult Learning, Motivation and Influence, and Career Survival. Each block of study is directed at the Field Training Officer and FTO Administrator, and ways to improve their teaching, work product, and approach to today's Officer In Training. Information includes motivating different generations of trainees, the importance of socialization, career survival for the FTO, and case law review pertaining to evaluations.

NAFTO's FTO Schools are nationally recognized for preparing experienced personnel for a career in field training. The courses focus on the FTO themselves, and how they can improve their interpersonal and instruction skills to increase trainee retention. The classes incorporate a variety of learning activities, including group work, case law discussion, and video scenarios. Unlike most schools, NAFTO does not focus on a single model of field training. NAFTO offers techniques and skills that can be applied within any training model.

Seating limited to the 1st 45 applicants, no exceptions. This class will sell out and it will sell out quickly.

Cost: - $135 per student, which includes training materials and 1 year membership to NAFTO. Refunds are offered more than 30 days from class minus a $20 processing fee. Refunds are not offered within 30 days of class, but student substitution is permitted at any time prior to class.
