About the workshop:

The most essential ingredient when it comes to BIM is collaboration! In this workshop, you will be required to participate in groups to cook up the tastiest BIM project you can, by sourcing the right ingredients for success. The output will be analyzed together with the BIM Kitchen "Chefs" (aka VDC Managers from Turner Construction and ETRO Construction), to understand and demonstrate the fundamentals of BIM, and how it can help to support problem-solving on projects. Through this workshop, attendees will discover how through BIM and collaboration, a project team is able to find faster, qualitatively better and / or cheaper solutions to their projects.

About our presenters:

Anneka Chand has a unique background of studying Architectural Technology and Nuclear Design and Technology. She has worked on a variety of projects in commercial, residential, transport, healthcare and energy sectors; and has helped industry leaders facilitate change and innovation strategies.

Xenia Gordienko carries a valuable combination of Computer Science and Engineering, and Architecture and Design degrees. She has created, developed and implemented BIM standards on different projects around the world, and is a guest speaker at several Universities. 

Both Anneka and Xenia are VDC Managers working for General Contractors in Vancouver. They have been working in the design and construction industry for over 10 years with experience in the UK, Europe, Russia and North America. Anneka is currently working for the US-based, Turner Construction, whilst Xenia is working for BC-based, ETRO Construction.
