Please join us April 28, 2022 at 5:30 PM to take part in our April Speaker Event featuring Seema Lal and Jen Hancock who will walk us through the basics of the Integrated Project Delivery method and how it is currently being implemented in the construction industry.

Discussion points will include:


How is IPD different from more traditional Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build models?

Reviewing the challenges in bringing IPD projects to the market; what projects are ideal for this method?

Examples of IPD projects that have been completed or are underway.


About our speakers:

Seema Lal is a partner of Clyde & Co. Canada LLP with particular expertise in the areas of builders lien, construction law, and insurance law. Seema assists her clients in the construction industry by providing advice on contracts, procurement, builders lien, construction litigation and disputes, including claims for extras and delay.

Seema is a Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers, Director of the British Columbia Construction Roundtable, a past Chair and Member at Large of the CBAC Construction Law Section, and also our very own Vice President of Canadian Construction Women!

Seema regularly lectures and provides seminars to industry groups both in-house and elsewhere such as Buildex, the Independent Contractors Association of BC, and Pacific Business and Law Institute. She is also an adjunct lecturer in the Engineering Law and Contracts in Civil Engineering course for 4th year Civil Engineering students at UBC.

Jen Hancock is the Vice President Collaborative Construction for Chandos Construction.
She has worked for Chandos for the last 14 years and has helped lead many of the company's innovative practices in that time. She works primarily as a coach, facilitator , and trainer for project teams with a focus on Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), collaborative construction practices, lean, and sustainability.

Jen has worked on some of the first IPD projects in Canada, and has been a key champion in bringing it across the country from BC to Ontario. She oversees Lean integration and training, and was instrumental in setting up and managing the waste diversion policy in 2010 that has seen Chandos divert over 75% of its waste in the last 9 years.

Jen is also on the Board of Directors and is Committee Chair with the Integrated Project Delivery Alliance as well as being on the Board of Directors for the Edmonton Construction Association.
