Don't Miss This Once A Year Opportunity to visit, explore, and dig at a local quartz mine. The Spruce Pine Mining District produces 99% of the world's purest quartz used for the production of semi conductor chips which power the world's cell phones, tablets, and more!Sponsored and hosted by the Quartz Corporation, mine tour participants will travel via transportation shuttles from the Festival site to the Quartz mine location. Participants will be briefed on safety measures, information abou the mine and the Quartz Corp and then allowed to explore the mine site and collect specimens to take home. (Keep as much as you can carry in your space on the van).Don't wait to reserve your spot! More details on the mine location and minerals you can expect to find will be provided closer to the event. Mine Tour Participants: Thursday/Friday Tours: Meet at the Three Peaks Enrichment Center at 6:30 PM. Shuttles will depart at 7 pm carry you to the mine site and then return you to the Three Peaks Enrichment Center at 9 pm.Saturday Morning Mine Tour: Meet at the Three Peaks Enrichment Center at 8:30 am.
