Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment Certification Training Course

This is an intensive 3-day session that is offered in a productive workshop atmosphere, providing attendees with the training required to conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in Canada. The course is suitable for both experienced practitioners and those wishing to enter the site assessment field and/or wish to be recognized as a Canadian site assessment professional.

This course is offered for both in-person and virtual attendance.

Each step of the Phase One Environmental Site Assessment process is taught in accordance with the CSA-Z768 guidelines. Attendees who successfully complete this course and final exam are eligible to apply for the C.E.S.A. designation. *further certification steps are required, visit www.aesac.ca for more info*

All course attendees receive a free one-year membership with AESAC.

This course includes an actual site visit of a real subject property, expert guest speakers, group and individual assignments, course and reference materials, and much more.

The Halifax course is expanded to included provincial guidelines and regulations for NS, NB, NL, and PEI. These additions contain valuable information and resources for practitioners operating in Eastern Canada.

Course Instructor:
Scott MacKnight, Ph.D., EP(CEA)

Scott is the President of OCL Group with over 30 years of experience in environmental assessment, contaminated site remediation, environmental management, and professional training, having led major Phase I–III assessments and some of the largest remediation projects in Atlantic Canada for public and private clients. An internationally certified environmental auditor and educator, Scott is a long-standing adjunct professor at Dalhousie University, a board member of professional associations, a frequent conference speaker, and co-author of several technical books.
