COURSE OUTLINE

This training program is designed specifically for the Canadian Rental Association – BC Region members who wish to qualify service technicians for the Inspection, Service and Requalification of Portable Gas Fired Heaters up to 400k btuh. Successful completion of this course will allow qualified service technicians and CRA-member rental facility locations to apply for a Special Purpose Certificate of Qualification (SPCQ) from Technical Safety BC. This SPCQ will enable the inspection, service and requalification of specific makes and models of heaters used within the scope of the SPCQ within their operation.


The course is delivered as two separate modules:  


MODULE 1 - (theory) is general in scope, providing the learner with theory knowledge on the service, inspection and re-qualification standards of portable gas fired heaters.

MODULE 2 - is a practical based skills assessment on each applicable model of heater, covering both direct and indirect heaters up to 400,000 Btuh. Both modules are instructor led by a TeamWorks Solutions authorized instructor.

Course Length- 24-30 hours (3 days)

This course meets Technical Safety BC: Directive D-GA-2018-01.

The Special Purpose Certificate of Qualification issued by Technical Safety BC is intended to cover select makes and models of portable gas fired heaters up to 400,000 btuh.  This endorsement entitles the certificate holder to perform regulated work under the conditions specifically stated on the certificate and is valid for 3 years.
